about

HELLO HELLO :)

this is the first single from BITTERSWEET, an experimental side project that grew under a bridge out of a riot grrrl band and an ableton course.

this track is written in solidarity with migrant workers; who's blood, sweat and tears are extracted and exploited under various monstrous forms of capitalism and built this modern fuckin empire never being fairly financially compensated or granted basic human rights. The Migrant Justice Institute estimates that there are 150 million migrant workers worldwide. In so-called australia, there are approximately 23,900 Pacific and East Timorese migrant workers on agricultural visas under the Pacific labour schemes.

Drawing together dust bowl migration in the united states of the 1920s, FIFA stadium work sites, vegetable farms in ontario and mango farms in the top end; this track pounds a beat to the exploitative capitalist systems of migrant workers, international trade and colonisation.
